Ruth’s exhibition, Landscape Returned, is on display during her stay in Mildura, and her paintings and mixed media works are described as “a fusion of geography, journey, discovery and memory”.

Now in her fourth residency in Mildura, Ruth recalled the first time she travelled to the region via WestWyalong.

She has since taken two or three days to complete the trip, so she can “absorb the environment” which is different to that of her Blue Mountains home.

“The Hay plain is quite marvellous and it’s different to what people expect,” she said.
